1.  PUBLIC SAFETY
 

  Safer streets and neighborhoods remain one of my highest priorities.

  Since joining the Council, I’ve supported funding for two additional dedicated traffic deputies to strengthen enforcement on our local roads. I’ll continue working to improve traffic safety, support effective public safety resources, and make sure our Sheriff’s Department and first responders have the tools they need to serve our community.
 

2. WILDFIRE PREPAREDNESS & FIRE PROTECTION

  Preparing today can make all the difference in an emergency.
 

  My ten years as a Reserve Firefighter taught me the importance of preparing before an emergency happens. On the Council, I initiated the push to expand Fire Station 6, including a third full-time firefighter and a full-sized Type 1 engine. I’ll continue prioritizing evacuation planning, community preparedness and wildfire awareness, especially in neighborhoods with limited evacuation routes.
 

3. YOUTH SAFETY & SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL

  Our kids should be able to get to school as safely as possible.
 

  We worked with the school district to increase crossing-guard coverage along Park Dale Lane, while the corridor received enhanced crosswalks, ADA-accessible sidewalks, longer red curbs near crossings and new pavement. I also joined Deputy Mayor Jim O’Hara in advancing a safety study for the intersection of Village Park Way and Park Dale Lane.
 

  There is more to do. I’ll continue advocating for effective bike-safety programs and working with our school districts on additional campus and student-safety measures, including my effort to bring School Resource Officers to our schools.

4. ROADS, TRAILS & NEIGHBORHOOD INFRASTRUCTURE

  Our tax dollars should show up in the neighborhoods where we live.
 

  I’ve pushed to prioritize roads, sidewalks, crosswalks and long-overdue neighborhood improvements, including adding Park Dale Lane to the City’s major pavement project. I’ll continue advocating for responsible infrastructure investment, including completion of Trail 82 along Rancho Santa Fe Road as a shared equestrian, bicycle and pedestrian trail.
 

5. LOCAL CONTROL & FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY

  Encinitas should have a meaningful voice in decisions that shape our community.

  I believe local leaders should have the ability to make responsible decisions based on the unique needs of the communities they serve. I’ll continue standing up for local decision-making, protecting taxpayer dollars and pushing back when outside mandates undermine Encinitas’ ability to shape its own future.
 

6. ACCOUNTABLE HOMELESSNESS SOLUTIONS

  Compassion and accountability can - and should - go together.

I supported the City’s partnership with the San Diego Rescue Mission because I believe homelessness programs should be focused on real pathways toward stability and measurable results. Our most recent Point-in-Time Count showed a nearly 30% decrease in homelessness, and I’ll continue supporting solutions that connect people with meaningful help while keeping our public spaces safe and accessible.
